Her Gilded Stage
This is a micro visual novel is loosely based on and inspired by Trilby, a 1894 novel written by George du Maurier. Created for the O2A2 VN Jam 2023, which has strict asset limitations and a 1000 word count limit.
Features:
- Atmospheric suspense and horror.
- Four possible endings.
- Song: The First by My Self Into Eternity.
- Trigger warnings: Implications of death, suicide, and murder.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with how this turned out within the limitations of the jam. Though, I am tempted to add more art in a future update.

I really enjoyed this story a lot very similar to what chimeriquevent had stated it reminded me of "Phantonm of the Opera"
Thank you! Yes, The Phantom of the Opera is definitely a much more well known story. Even I thought of it quite a bit when drawing the background haha.
Oh, this was such an intense story! First, the sprite art is absolutely gorgeous, and the background is wonderful! For the plot, it felt like The Phantom of the Opera but with Christine's relationship with the ghost feeling even more co-dependent! I'm genuinely curious about Trilby. Anyway, your game was an amazing self-contained story, a tragic one (all routes leading to a similar conclusion in the end), but I like tragedies! Congrats on the game!
Thank you for the kind review! I actually found out about Trilby when I came across the term Svengali, the name of its "phantom" sort of antagonist. This little tragic snapshot came to mind when brainstorming for O2A2, and I'm glad it's leaving a good impression.
